Alexandru GAVAN

Alex is climbing mountains and enjoying the great outdoors since forever.
At 24 years old, he is a freelance climbing photographer and expedition organizer.

Enjoying most the winter aspects of mountaineering.

Owner/Developer of CloudClimbing project, an initiative to accomplish ascents on the world's highest mountains 6 years of volunteering for Asociatia de turism si ecologie Caltun-Club UNESCO (founder member also), Salvamont Curtea de Arges and AIESEC Bucharest.

With a University degree in International Business Administartion, he previously worked as business development manager for an IT company as well as a real estate investment consultant.

Two years ago he planned and organized Nexcom Khan Tengri 2004 expedition in Tien Shan Mountains of Kazakstan; he solo reached the summit of Chapaev (6130m) and retreated due to bad wheather at 6400m on Khan Tengri (7010m).

In August 2005 Alex organized a trip to European Alps and summited Mont Blanc (4808m) via Reffugio Gonella together with his climbing partner, Matei Laudoniu. Numerous winter ascents (some of them solo) in Fagaras, Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains as well as alpinism routes in Costila and Postavaru.

Alex had his first personal photography exhibition in June 2005 at the National theatre in Bucharest (www.cloudclimbing.ro/events.html)
His photographic works and mountaineering articles has been published on magazines as National Geographic Romania, PhotoMagazine, Descopera, Knox etc. Currently he is doing what he likes best: living life to the full up the slopes of the world's highest mountains.
  Sergiu Matei

Currently working as a cameraman in the News team with the ProTV, Sergiu is combining his love for the mountains with his professional filming skill. He is in charge with directing, filming and editing through the documentary.

A graduated from BBC school of ATF (1996), Sergiu has received the APTR award in 1997 for a documentary about Ghita Muresan. In 1997, his entirely produced documentary (directing, filming, editing, promoting) Printul Banffi has been broadcasted in BBC network.

Between 1996-2005, Sergiu has been done directing, filming and editing for a numerous TV broadcasts in Media Pro International, Pro TV, Antena 1, TVR with a positive feedback from the audience.

In 2005 he has been filming at the peak of the main events of the year covering the News flooding across the country and the bird influenza(H5N1). Besides filming he enjoys very much the photography, also exposing photographs at international and national photo exhibitions (PremPhoto,Salonul International de la Targu Mures).

A keen mountaineer, he has been scaled mountains in Caucasus (Mount Ushba, 4400m alt.) , New Zeeland's South Pacific Alps (Ruapehu, Taranaki, Ngauruhoe), and Europe (Rila).
